support for digital businesses

I find that the Council does very little to support local businesses. I ran a social media consultancy and offered to do workshops to skill up local people in digital skills and it was like pulling teeth. On top of that they expect businesses to deliver workshops for free, not valuing professional skills/expertise/time.

  1. Hi there – very sorry to hear this has been your experience. We do value all our business community and put on a range of events and other support initiatives. In the digital and technology space, you can find all the events and goings-on on http://www.croydon.digital

Responsibility for digital inclusion has moved to my new digital service in the council and we will be rebooting it as part of this strategy.

I’d love to speak to you about how you can help. (I think I may know who you are, and if so we are speaking soon anyway! If not then please get in touch directly – forename.surname @ croydon.gov.uk – or come to one of our croydon.digital drinks events and say hello

    1. Hi there, I am also sorry to hear about your experience. We do work with our existing croydon business network to deliver a variety of support and events and often have businesses who are keen to work with us to support our SME business community(as part of their social value contribution). We are always thinking about improving our services so please do get in touch.
